Make a list of the characters as I meet them and write a brief personality check of each.
Ellie didn't really speak about appearances, but the order in which I read about them was Ellie, Homer, Fi, Lee, and Chris.
How do I think the novel will end?
I think the novel will end with one or more of them dying tragically, and also they are saved and taken of somewhere else that is significantly safer than Wirawee.
When I finish, think about the actions that Ellie did. Would I have done them as well?
I'm not an expert on war, but I would have. She used rational and logical explanations for everything, which I consider very smart.

Robyn's fingers crept down to the pin grenade in her pocket. She blinked twice, hesitated. She looked towards the five of us, desperate, pleading, miserable creatures, and gave a scared little smile. It was more of a grimace. I tried to call out to her, tried to show her I knew. But I could only make a hoarse cackling sound. Major Harvey glanced towards me, and smiled triumphantly. Right now, I hated that man more than I hated anything else in the whole wide world. Then I screamed Robyn! She looked towards me, and I saw fear and uncertainness in her eyes. But then Major Harvey looked down involuntarily and saw the tip of the emerging pin grenade. He dropped his gun and stepped forwards, his hands raised to surrender himself. But then the ground exploded. There was a massive deafening Bang as the grenade exploded into the air. The fog cleared a while later, and there was nothing left of Robyn, precious Robyn.

    Stage 3: After Reading
Review the predictions I made at the start and later in the novel. Was I right? Was I surprised by anything that happened?
The predictions I made at the beginning were completely different to the ones I made near the end. But surprisingly, my earlier predictions were more accurate than my later ones. I wasn't very surprised at anything major that happened, well, tish boom. But what Ellie spoke about, her feelings, surprised me. She really is a very honest person.
What are some questions I'd like to ask a main character and what might they answer? Write an interview script.
Me: What did you feel when Lee went off with another girl, an enemy at that?
Ellie: I felt as if he had betrayed me, and I had been one of his playtoys. But not only that, she was an enemy! We were being chased all around the district and then Lee goes off with an enemy! We could have been caught, or worse, killed! I don't think he understood the desperation of the situation.
Me: What did you feel when you saw the ship blow up?
Ellie: I couldn't really believe it. I mean, the sheer grandness of it all. The sight of that ship blowing up, the bullets, everything! Of course, it's a fantasy now it's over. But the fact that amateurs had achieved that kind of thing, personally I think we had spiritual help!
Me: What did you think when you were caught and taken off to Stratton Prison?
Ellie: I was so scared I almost wet my pants! Luckily, I didn't. But the fact that it could have been anyone else, but it just had to be us, was infuriating and plain unfair. We're just teenagers, we had to save the world! Why? But I could see that everyone else had lost hope and were giving up. But I didn't want to. I knew we had to escape or else it would be the end of us. But I really was losing hope as well. I mean, I thought it was the end for me and for the others. I was literally a goner back then.
